Quilted Valentine's Day Postcards (2-week class)
Celebrate the season sustainably! Learn to craft quilted postcards from repurposed and leftover fabrics. Using sustainable stitching and simple quilting techniques, students will create holiday themed mini-artworks that celebrate connection, creativity, and joy.
Skills You’ll Learn:
- Layering fabric with batting for structure
- Basic quilting and edge-finishing techniques
- Decorative machine or hand stitching
- Using fusible materials or stabilizers for structure
- Finishing techniques for display or mailing
No quilting experience is necessary, although students must have experience threading a sewing machine, loading & winding a bobbin and sewing a straight stitch to take this class. All materials provided, although, since this is a hand quilting and scrap-focused class, students can choose to bring their own thread and scraps to work with.
This class is taught by guest teacher, Karen Middleton and meets twice:
Sunday, February 1st / 6-8pm
Sunday, February 8th / 6-8pm
*Please note: we are unable to provide any partial refunds if one or more of the classes are missed.
This class is for people ages 12+. If you are looking for a class for someone younger than 12, please see our 1:1 lessons.
Our studio is located at 401 N 23rd St. in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond, VA. There is typically ample street parking within a block or two.
This class needs at least 2 people to run so sign up with a friend or share on social media to help spread the word. If the class doesn’t reach its minimum capacity, we will notify you 2 days in advance and issue a refund for your payment.
