In this multi-week, 2-hour, machine sewing class, you will be guided through creating a tote bag with pockets and a lining. We’ll cover cutting the fabric, ironing and sewing straps and pockets, attaching pockets, sewing the liner and canvas, and sewing the tote bag together.
Please bring 1/2 yard of cotton fabric and 1 yard of canvas fabric.
This class meets 4 times, for a total of 8 learning hours.

Students must have experience threading a sewing machine, loading & winding a bobbin and sewing a straight stitch to take this class.
We have portable sewing machines that you can borrow if you don’t currently have one. Please note that you’d like to use a studio machine when prompted for the make/model of your machine during sign-up. If you have your own machine, please bring that to class along with your power cord/pedal, manual (if you have it) and an empty bobbin or two.
The Top Stitch Studio is located at 203 Hull St, Suite C in Manchester. There is typically street parking within a block or two and a small shared parking lot located at the very corner of Hull St. and Brander St. with a few spaces. Please do not park in the larger lot behind the building as it requires a permit and you could be towed.
This class needs at least 2 people to run so sign up with a friend or share on social media to help spread the word. If the class doesn’t reach its minimum capacity, we will notify you 2 days in advance and issue a refund for your payment. Invite your friends through our Facebook event!
