Sew a Zero Waste Caftan
$85.00

In this 2-hour, machine sewing class taught by Amanda Campbell, you will learn the fundamentals of zero-waste garment design.

This class is great for anyone who enjoys learning how design and patternmaking work together in sustainable sewing and is aged 12+. If you are looking for a class for someone younger than 12, please see our 1:1 lessons.

Students must have experience threading a sewing machine, loading & winding a bobbin and sewing a straight stitch to take this class.

Students must provide 2-3 yards of a woven fabric of their choice for the project and matching thread.

We have portable sewing machines that you can borrow if you don’t currently have one. Please note that you’d like to use a studio machine when prompted for the make/model of your machine during sign-up. If you have your own machine, please bring that to class along with your power cord/pedal, manual (if you have it) and an empty bobbin or two.

Our studio is located at 401 N 23rd St. in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond, VA. There is typically ample street parking within a block or two.

This class needs at least 2 people to run so sign up with a friend or share on social media to help spread the word. If the class doesn’t reach its minimum capacity, we will notify you 2 days in advance and issue a refund for your payment. Invite your friends through our Facebook event!
