At our low-waste sewing studio, we believe we can take care of our material things and each other at the same time. That’s why, at Top Stitch & Friends events, we invite other local repair specialists, low-waste sustainability initiatives, and creative reuse makers to offer their products and services to the community. Top Stitch & Friends events are the same as Open Studio, but with vend-friends!
Welcome vend-friends Honey Honed Sharpening and KOAN Acupuncture for this month’s Top Stitch & Friends event!
Honey Honed Sharpening will be offering on-site scissor and knife sharpening. Prep your items by wrapping them in newspaper or a towel and including a note with your name and number. Jacob will answer any questions you may have and bring your items back to their former glory!
KOAN Acupuncture will be offering community acupuncture as a fundraiser for Gold Lion Community Cafe. Community acupuncture is offered in a group setting and is a great low-cost way to check out the modality, and/or get a quick tune-up. You'll be able to recline in a zero-gravity chair, and have points from the elbows and knees down, and/or ears and scalp. Wear loose fitting clothing! Sign up here. The system will hold your card details but you will not be charged until the event once you've let Nic know your preferred donation (sliding-scale $25-$50 and 100% of the profits will be donated to Gold Lion Community Cafe).
As ALWAYS it’s an appointment-free walk-in day for on-site mini-mends as busyness allows and repair pile drop-off for pick-up on a later date. Check out our Instagram highlight for how to prep your mending pile.
Can’t make the event but have your mending pile all ready to go? You can always schedule a drop-off with us at our Church Hill studio location or Eco Inspired, our Southside drop-off and pick-up location.

Our studio is located at 401 N 23rd St. in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond, VA. There is typically ample street parking within a block or two.
Accessibility: There is a 5” step up to enter our sewing studio.
