Upcycled Bike Shorts
$85.00

In this one-time, 2-hour, machine sewing class, you will learn how to repurpose a garment of your own, such as exercise pants or leggings, into a pair of padded bike shorts. Students will cut, pattern, and sew the bike shorts using multiple machine stitching techniques.

This is a great class for anyone who wants to transform that stretched-out or no-longer-used pair of leggings into comfortable and practical biking gear. Students must have experience threading a sewing machine, loading & winding a bobbin and sewing a straight stitch to take this class. It's recommended that students have experience cutting stretchy material and are comfortable with the zig zag stitch. Serger experience is not required, but is a plus! This class is for you if you feel comfortable and confident enough to take on an intermediate project, knowing there will be lots of help and personalized attention.

Please bring a piece of stretchy exercise clothing (preferably pants) to create your 'new' bike shorts! We have extra stretch scrap fabric as well if you only have a pair of shorts.

This class is for people ages 12+. If you are looking for a class for someone younger than 12, please see our 1:1 lessons.

Our studio is located at 401 N 23rd St. in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond, VA. There is typically ample street parking within a block or two.
