This beginner-friendly class is taught by guest teacher, Nycol, of Windblown Sister Botanicals.
In this workshop, we’ll be creating a multi-signature, lay-flat blank book. You’ll learn how to sew signatures using the 5-hole pamphlet stitch, then bind them together into a rustic text block using rag ribbon. Once the foundation is built, we’ll finish by covering our books in reclaimed textiles or leather, making each piece truly unique. This class is designed to give you both skills and confidence, while offering the satisfaction of walking away with a beautiful, functional book you’ve made with your own hands. This class is great for anyone who loves books! All materials provided.
This class needs at least 2 people to run so sign up with a friend or share in your story to help spread the word. If the class doesn’t reach its minimum capacity, we will notify you 2 days in advance and issue a refund for your payment.
This class is for people of all ages - even crafty kids!
The studio is located at 401 N 23rd St. in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond, VA. There is typically ample street parking within a block or two.
