This lesson builds on the basic skills from Machine Sewing 1.
You will learn to read a very basic pattern and follow the directions to make a drawstring bag! Along the way, we’ll cover common pattern vocabulary and symbols, practice different styles of pinning fabric, and explore zig zag stitches. We will review threading your machine, loading your bobbin, and using reverse before diving in, in addition to any other questions or troubleshooting you want help with.
Depending on the pace we may also have time to focus on the additional stitches your machine offers and when to use them, sewing curves and sewing in the round.
Class is 2 hours long on a one-on-one basis in the Top Stitch Studio.
Knowledge of Machine Sewing 1 required.
Sewing machine provided if needed.
The Top Stitch Studio is located in Church Hill and typically has abundant street parking.
