Mend Friend Meetup
This is a pay-what-you-can unplugged community sewing circle. Bring a project (a sock to darn, a hem to stitch, a hoop to embroider, or some yarn to knit or crochet) and join us at the ICA. This is a non-instructional, self-guided gathering—think of it like coworking with fiber friends.
Hand sewing, mending, knitting, crocheting, embroidery—anything goes, as long as it's unplugged (no machines at this time). This is not a class, but a welcoming space to work on your own project, meet fellow makers, and maybe even swap a tip or two.
The Facebook event can be found here. The more the mendier—tell a buddy and bring them along!
Please register here. We have pay-what-you-can options below and will also have the option of cash tipping on site.
If you have questions about our repair services and sewing classes, we’ll be happy to answer them during the meetup.
This event is held at the Institute for Contemporary Art cafe on the first floor from 12-2pm at 601 W Broad St, on the corner of Broad and Belvidere. There is a parking lot adjacent to the museum with paid parking and there will be food and drinks available for purchase during the event.
