Classes & Lessons

Teaching people to sew is our favorite thing. Once someone gains a skill, the world around them is transformed. Sewing empowers us to care for the material items we love while redirecting clothing waste from landfills. When we reap what we sew, this is a win-win stitch-uation!

From our Students

  • “YAY! I am so excited to finally know how to sew! Lisa is incredible, personable, and very patient and talented. I highly recommend this place for all your sewing needs. Thank you!”

  • “I took several one-on-one lessons with Lisa after meeting her at a mending event she put together at Quirk. Although I am a slow learner, Lisa is an incredible teacher; she is patient, kind, and never made me feel embarrassed for asking the same questions over and over. She is also a wonderful resource on sustainability. I highly recommend her lessons!”

  • “Lisa is an excellent and patient teacher. I haven’t practiced sewing since a middle school Home Ec class, so I really needed to relearn the basics. Lisa explains things very well so it was easy to follow her. And she had me repeat skills a few times and then build on them so that I was able to build muscle memory. I felt like I learned a lot in a small amount of time and I also had a lot of fun.”

  • “Working with Lisa has been everything I could ask for. Lisa is patient and always has a positive attitude – with great quotes for inspiration that she always gives me during our lessons. When I started sewing classes I knew very little. Lisa has given me so much knowledge and also taught me a lot about mending and not being wasteful with clothes.”
